Emergency Information

Fire Safety

Please read and observe the fire safety notice behind the bedroom door. In the event of a continuously sounding alarm, please follow the emergency exit signs and vacate the premises by the nearest fire exit route. The evacuation assembly point is at the entrance of the car park.

If you experience hearing problems or you have any other condition which might affect your safety in the event of a fire, please let our team know as soon as possible.

On discovering a fire, please raise the alarm by using the nearest break glass point and exit the building calmly via your nearest fire exit route. Do not stop to collect your belongings and do not re-enter the building until advised that it is safe to do so by a fire officer. Never attempt to tackle a fire yourself.

We test our fire alarms on Thursday mornings at 11:00. At this time it is not necessary for you to evacuate the building.

Breakages

Accidents happen! Please treat items in your room with due care but if something gets damaged or needs fixing, just let us know—we’ll sort it out as soon as we can.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served daily between 08:15 and 09:30. If you’re heading out early, we may be able to prepare a takeaway breakfast—please enquire with a team member the day before.

Note: The teahouse opens to non-residents at 09:00 (except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), so service may take a little longer after this time. Please bear this in mind if you’re planning an early start.

If you have any specific dietary needs, let us know as early as possible, and we’ll try our best to accommodate your request.

Check Out

Check-Out is by 10:00am on your departure day.

Please vacate your room with all of your belongings before the check-out time and return your room keys so our team can prepare for the next guests.

Late Check-Out may be available upon request, with a checkout time of 13:00 for a fee of £15 per room. Be sure to arrange this at least one day prior to your scheduled departure.

Garden Access

You’re welcome to relax in the garden at any time. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet morning with a cup of tea or unwinding with a glass of wine as the sun sets, the garden and the views are yours to enjoy. Just be mindful of other guests and keep noise to a minimum.

Honesty Bar

Help yourself to a selection of soft drinks, Belgian beers (a nod to Michael’s heritage), and mini bottles of prosecco from our honesty bar downstairs, as well as complimentary fresh milk for your tea or coffee. Just jot down what you’ve had on the ‘honesty pad’, and we’ll sort out the total when you check out. The price list can be found in the menu holder, and there’s a bottle opener on top of the bar for your convenience.

If you’re after a bottle of wine, we’ve got you covered! We offer an expertly curated wine list (sorry, no wine by the glass outside our opening hours), and as an overnight guest, you’ll enjoy a 10% discount on all bottles for after-hours enjoyment. While discounts don’t apply to Cava or Pol Roger Champagne, they can be pre-ordered and served during your stay. Additional bottles aren’t self-served, but we’re always happy to assist!

Please note, because we’re licensed, we do ask that you refrain from consuming your own alcohol while we’re open. Once we’re closed, however, feel free to enjoy your drinks—just give us a heads-up, and we’ll provide the necessary glasses. Do take care though, as any spillages may incur a cleaning charge.

Housekeeping

At Greendale Teahouse & Rooms, we prioritise your comfort and satisfaction. Our housekeeping team is dedicated to ensuring your stay is as enjoyable as possible. Here’s what you can expect during your visit:

Daily Tidying: Our team will visit your room daily to tidy up, replenish your hospitality tray, and ensure everything is in order for your comfort. If you have specific requests, just let us know!

Towel Management: To support our commitment to the environment, if you hang your towels up, we will leave them for you to reuse. If towels are placed on the floor or in the bath/shower, we’ll replace them with fresh ones.

Bed Sheet Refresh: If you’re staying with us a bit longer, we refresh the bed sheets every three days to ensure you always have a clean and comfortable place to rest.

Eco-Friendly Products: We use a full array of eco-friendly cleaning products to maintain cleanliness throughout our establishment, ensuring a healthy environment for you and future guests.

Privacy Respect: If you prefer privacy during your stay, simply display the “Do Not Disturb” sign outside your door, and we will not enter your room until you indicate otherwise.

Special Requests: If you have any specific housekeeping needs or preferences, please feel free to reach out to our team. We’re here to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.

If you require any additional items, such as extra pillows or blanket, just let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist!

Iron, Ironing Board & Laundry

While we don’t offer a full laundry service, we do have an iron and ironing board available for you to use upon request. Just let us know if you need them, and we’ll happily bring them to your room.

Luggage Assistance & Storage

We’re happy to securely store your luggage after check-out, allowing you to enjoy more time exploring before you head off. If you need help bringing your bags downstairs or to your car, simply let one of our team members know—we’re always happy to assist.

Newspaper

We can order your favourite newspaper ready for when you come down to breakfast. Please let us know the evening before and we’ll take care of it. Charges apply.

Parking

We offer complimentary parking in our private car park. Please avoid parking directly outside the property, except for loading and unloading. Parking spaces cannot be reserved, but there’s usually plenty of space, especially after the teahouse closes to the public. When you make use of our car park, please take extra care when moving, and accept that you park at your own risk.

If you need assistance with luggage from the car park, just let us know!

Pets

We love dogs at Greendale Teahouse and if you’ve brought your furry friend, then we hope your dog is settling in just as nicely as you are! There’s a £10 charge per dog, per night, and if you didn’t bring a doggy bed, we’re happy to provide one.

Please note that dogs should not be fed in the rooms—dog bowls are available outside for feeding. And for everyone’s comfort, dogs must not be left on their own under any circumstances. If you need anything else for your four-legged friend, just let us know, and we’ll be glad to help.

Quiet Hours

Please ensure to keep noise to a minimum between 22:00 and 7:00, so everyone can enjoy a good night’s rest.

Smoking

To maintain a pleasant environment for all our guests, we kindly ask that you refrain from smoking or vaping anywhere inside or within the grounds.

Taxi

For reliable local transport, we highly recommend Gis A Lift, operated by Adrian and his son from their base in Gisburn. Whether you’re heading out for a meal, exploring the local area, or need a ride to and from the train station, Adrian is your go-to.

You can book directly with Adrian on his website, via phone or WhatsApp on 01200 545555. It’s best to book in advance, especially during busier times.

If you’re booked on our Authentic Italian Escape and dining out at La Locanda (or anywhere else nearby), Adrian offers private transfers to make sure you get there and back comfortably. Just let him know your dining plans, and he’ll ensure your table reservation is met on time.

Adrian’s rates are reasonable, and he’ll be happy to give you a quote before your trip. Cash and card payments are accepted.

Tea & Coffee Facilities

Your room includes a complimentary tea and coffee tray with everything you need for a cosy brew, including ground coffee for the cafetière, instant coffee, a selection of teas, and premium hot chocolate. You’ll also find a small flask of fresh milk and a bottle of filtered water for your convenience.

Feel free to refill your milk flask from the honesty bar downstairs. Your hospitality tray is refreshed daily, but if you need anything extra, don’t hesitate to ask!

WiFi

We’re delighted to offer complimentary Wi-Fi, but please note that our beautiful rural location means that speeds aren’t super-fast.
